My brother-in-law made me a coffee snob. So, he surprised me with this Lavazza Espresso. I honestly thought it would taste like "Welcome Centre" coffee, but it was not bad. Sweet, oily, and quite easy to enjoy. But, it's just one of those things where I would only buy it if there were not many other choices.

Pointless fun fact with name drop, cause I am the main character right now, the cappuccino cup I am using came as a set, that was a gift from retired NBA player Danillo Gallinari. They were two, one fell and broke when I was in Texas. I have it in a box and will super glue it together some day. Also included were two espresso cups that I've never used.

I would bet good money half of the connoisseurs have wooden tongues and fake it.

Oh my god, I so hope you're right. One time I was at an espresso bar in Seattle (I'll name and shame since this was like a decade ago, it was Trabant in the U district) and this guy served up an espresso shot SO SOUR that I couldn't even finish the wee shot glass of it.

So I asked him if it's supposed to be this sour and he pulled another shot in front of me, drank it, and looked me dead in the eye and said it wasn't sour.

Hand on a bible, it tasted like an entire crabapple tree that had been infused with battery acid by Dr. Frankenstein and had come to life to kick my ass. It tasted like the metaphorical bitter cup to drink from that this entire last decade has been, so much so that I wonder if things would have been different for the world had I never tasted it.

So, thanks. I felt gaslit, and I've been carrying that with me for a long time.
