What did the Roman's do to predict the weather? Or did they just take it day by day? Did this ever effect any of their wars? (lemmy.world)

I know if it's raining out, and you start to hear bird song, it means the rain is about to stop.

Also if leaves on trees are flipped upside down, it's about to start raining.
