The full post;

The death penalty is inadmissible because it is an attack on the inviolability and dignity of the person. The common good can be safeguarded and the requirements of justice can be met without recourse to capital punishment: effective systems of detention have been developed that protect citizens while at the same time do not completely deprive those who are guilty of the possibility of redemption. #NoDeathPenalty

Obviously, the Bible has enough crazy stuff in it that you can justify whatever you want. But these people are all very invested in getting angry over this post for some reason. It is like their "Christianity" is just about worshipping authority and giving themselves permission to do whatever they want.

Even the implication that your devotion could be conditional or revoked seems, to me, to undermine any actual benefit of the spirituality. Jesus, you have my heart and I have seen the way... it happens to be my way and the way I would have done it. Mercy only for the #worthy

One would assume that the social benefits are underwritten by the unwaivering faith, lest it water down into aesthetics and simply being a proxy for prejudice.

Will "probably" stay? Are you about it or not?
