I don't know the details of US elections but from a distance it looked like just choosing to run her was an intentional decision to hand the presidency to Trump and the Republicans.

    she started with a promise to do price caps or some such, that combined with the campaign calling the republiklans weird was doing numbers on the polls. So of course they dropped all those and started going around with Liz Cheney while refusing to drop Joe Biden and his genocidal legacy.

    so yeah, either you're correct or they're just really bad at this

    I don't think it was their choice to run her. The choice they made was to nominate Biden's corpse to prevent the contest for the next Democratic nominee from becoming a referendum on genocide. She was the backup plan after that exploded in their face.

    They ran with some extremely cursed and mind melting argument that since voters had voted for Biden before he dropped and Kamala was running in lieu of Biden she just had to adopt his awful stances or it would be seen as “a betrayal” to those who had chosen Biden

    This was all so they wouldn’t have to scrap the primary and re-run it.

    Edit: changed “strategies” to “stances” for clarity
