Nuremberg was a failure. 180 convictions. To put that in perspective, over the course of the war, 8000 - 9000 Germans served in Aushuwitz alone. In total about 25% of those that served as Nazis during WW2 died in combat. That's at least 6000 Nazis that experienced and participated in first hand, the systematic and industrial execution of innocent people on a mass scale. They released the gas, they pushed them in, they shot those that resisted, and they showed up again the next day to do it again. And that's a single camp.

Say what you will about Stalin. But I'm starting to think the story about him "joking" about executing every single German officer (50-100k) was actually the right idea. The world today would have been better for it.
