    Pretty much. Deci only gets used for drinks and deka only gets used for deli meat/cheese.

    Deci is used for baking as well, all the time. How is that "only for drinks"?

    I've never seen one recipe that uses them. But maybe we just live in different countries.

    A millilitre sounds like a crazy level of precision for cooking or baking, though. How is that ever necessary? I guess you're rounding to decilitres in practical use anyway?

    If I encountered something like "150 ml" in a recipe, I'd assume it was written by a mad engineer and just use a measurement tool for 1 dl and put about 1½ of those. Makes life easier and the result will be just as good. Different nations have very different approaches to cooking, it seems!
