There are over 300 million Americans for one and pretty much each of those is a problem, polluting more than nearly any other country per capita. Plus they chose to elect the guy who promised untold wars.

Those "100 people" mostly run American (not all - some are European or Chinese or Saudi too) publicly traded companies owned mostly by pension funds and 401ks. So mostly it's Americans, older Americans in particular, benefitting from all that. Those people are there to take the flak so you don't realize that most people in wealthy companies are profiting off the destruction of the planet and everyone's way of life needs to change, which is why it can only be done by law. Ban air travel for one, or limit it to say 6 flights per person per year (including connection flights). Ban any fossil fuel powered transport, electric generation, fertiliser production and so on. And this needs to happen globally everywhere at once, otherwise whoever doesn't take part of the ban has an unfair advantage over everyone else.
