And Guardians vol. 3, and some people really like Loki while other people really dislike Loki.

But I think that's all.

    Yeah, if OP enjoyed Guardians 1-2, and then skipped 3, they really missed out.

    The guardians were such good stand alone movies I wish they hadn't been a part of the MCU and just developed on their own. It was kind of jarring to watch 1 and 2 then come back to 3 with a bunch of plot progression and character development you have to watch unrelated movies to understand

    This is literally one of the issues that killed comic books.

    People that weren't super into reading every single comic would be lost on interrelated and changing plot points.

    I think it's hilarious that marvel is literally making the same mistake but this time on a different medium.

    I thought it worked well before the first Avengers movie... Each hero had their own movie with no real continuity other than the post-credits scene, and then Avengers - and only Avengers - assumed you'd seen the previous ones. The movies were coming out at a reasonable cadence and there was plenty of time to get up to speed. Then they just went off the rails - interconnected continuity even between individual heroes' movies and a crazy fast release schedule meant you were either a superfan or you were lost.

    I ended up just watching them at a rate of 1-2 a week leading up to Endgame to get caught up, but it was just way too much.

    • 5 films -> Avengers over a 4 year period was reasonable.
    • 12 more films -> Infinity War over a 6 year period was much less reasonable.
    • 3 more -> Endgame in 1 year was just silly.

    Just went and looked it up, and there were another 16 films leading up to Doomsday over 5 years. They're just releasing things faster and faster. Who can (or even wants to) keep up with that?

    I was about to say, this is what got us the Marvel Implosion in the 90s. Nobody reading the Phoenix Saga in the X-Men wants to see "the story is continued in Avengers #459", or wants to hunt down 40 different titles to read the entirety of Civil War or whatever.
