In college I set up a 5x4 view camera that my grandfather had been given in the 50s.

It included a custom lens plate that the original owner had built. Stopped way down, I was able to take a low perspective shot of a field with some propane trucks in the distance, and the grass blades in the foreground were in focus, along with the tanks that were sort of the subject, 3-400 yards away.

The one thing I regret about the shot was that there was no sky, just blue (which means white/gray in b/w). Ansel was definitely an inspiration for that shot. In hindsight, I could have laid on my back just in front of the camera and still reached the shutter.
