These fines need to increase by like a factor of 100, or key decision makers need to see serous jail time.

    Bingo on the second point especially. The whole idea of only "punishing" the corporation and not holding key people accountable is insane. If the board room discussion went from "this may earn us a fine" to "this may earn each of us 10-15 years in prison", I think there'd be a lot less corporate shit like this.
