"you're too sensitive", warcry of assholes everywhere

Someone at work kept pretending he didn't understand how people were telling him he was using company equipment to send out political content and to not do it again.

What he sent out via work email was a calculator on what the typical taxpayer could expect to pay for some measure on the ballot. People kept explaining to him that what he was sharing is inherently one-sided. You are only telling people what that measure would (allegedly) cost, without explaining how that would benefit society, or individuals, or their kids. Not only that, but the supposed math on that cost and the veracity and good faith of the site itself? Who knows.

He kept saying if people want to understand how it may benefit (which he would sarcastically intone when spoken - the scare quotes were there every single time he said it) they could read the ballot measure, since it explains what it does, but people should know what it would cost them.

He couldn't understand that the dry language on the ballot is not really explaining all the potential upsides to society in general, etc.

I'm sure you could already guess that he's a conservative and voted R all the time...he was completely outraged when people asked him to provide something that explained how the measure would do good things. Suddenly, his gaslighting pretense of merely being "apolitical" and "just providing tools that give people data" fell to pieces. He had zero interest in providing any data on the upsides. Weird how that works.
