Well that's just not true.

Snyder's Superman was most heroic at the beginning of the movie before he had even met his birth father. His instinct to save lives was innate and then suppressed by the Kents. Jor-El doesn't make him a hero. He just encourages him to embrace his powers and come out of hiding.

And honestly, I'd say the Kent's aren't exactly the reason that Gunn's Superman is a hero either. That too seems to just be an innate quality for that Superman too. The difference is that his parents set a good example of decency and humanity, and they support and encourage his heroism instead of telling him to suppress it. And he projected his wants and expectations on his Kryptonian parents too, that they sent him there to be a hero. That just turned out to be less than true (apparently).
