Replies were bombarded with harassment and enbyphobia, trotting out the usual, "Why did you say their? Is she a group?" talking point, like a wall of Buzz Lightyear toys repeating their stock phrase. Others ask how to un-back the project, some describe the announcement as a "threat," and then come the usual buzzwords: Erika Ishii is a "toxic activist," a "woke idiot," "Antifa terrorist," and a few blatantly racist descriptors we obviously won't repeat here. Understandably, Double Fine turned off the comments.

Yes. Absolutely floors me. Given the research on bots vs humans, fascism, etc. that plagues Twitter, playing the "but the audience" card holds no merit.
