No, the whole idea is that we don't do ANYTHING ourselves. In the proposed futurist model of ubermensch via technology, technology would fix technology.

So we'd have self-replicating 3D technology-printers, that would self repair.

Normally I wouldn't say that kind of thing, but this time it's what I meant as the theological aims of a more tech, less social "society". It's the argument I was laying out.

So it was more: with enough technology every man is a sentient super powerful magical island ....with no friends, no community, and no identity beyond existentialism.

Also, this isn't sci fi, I'm just following what's happened so far and saying a particular aspect of the trend. Repirmen used to be more common, less advanced technology was more social. Now we already have plenty of self-diagnosing systems. Printers that tell you what's wrong with them, computers that can self repair, machines that are more durable and hence require less and less maintenance (and ergo, less repairmen to talk to, so less social).
