Just admit fault and say you've received an outpouring of messages that made you realize what a huge mistake you've been making and pay your shitty little PR people to dump money at Palestine. People would've shrugged and move on.

    Imagine you're a musician and you don't know any more about international politics than anyone else. Which is normally fine, you're just there to play music, who cares what your stance is on some controversial issue that has nothing to do with music?

    Then a hate group creates a scenario where you're required to "take a side" on a complex issue. What do you do?

    If you have the money Ed Sheeran has ,you hire some people to write up a statement to address the issue in the hopes you can go back to playing music which is what you want to do.

    Of course your statement will never be enough to satisfy the hate group. The whole point of a hate group is to hate people, and once you're a target of that hate group you will always be a target.

    How does hating Ed Sheeran help Palestinians? It doesn't. That doesn't matter because helping Palestinians isn't the goal of the "Free Palestine" movement anymore. The point of the "Free Palestine" movement is to express hatred towards anyone the group targets. It's a fascist hate movement and a movements like these need to occasionally demonstrate their power so those that are a part of it can feel powerful themselves.

    This is the attitude of someone who feels confident that their movement is strong and can destroy the people it targets. Don't you feel strong and powerful because you're part of a movement that will move in lock step when targeting individuals? This is the nature of fascism.

    Freedom of expression is not a complex issue. If you're the top dog on a tour and some promoter kicks one of the acts out for just expressing an opinion on stage... It seems simple enough to stand up for your colleagues.

    Your fascist hate group is a total fabrication. Sheeran is not a victim of anything, he just chose to side with the rich and powerful over his music "friends", which will never get you any sympathy points from the general public.

    How come you didn't mention Macklemore at all on this? Ed Sheeran sort of made himself the target by not standing up for his friend. What did his friend even do? He said "Free Palestine" in addition to other large scale conflicts going on. Free Cuba. Free Congo. Free Sudan.

    You don't mention this because you are either a moron or a Zionist. Take your pick, not exclusive.

    I mean, Ed Sheeran wants money, and he chose money over morals or his friend. That's all there is to it. There is this mythical apolitical stance that people think you can take, but that isn't true.     How did you get to 'Free Palistine is Fascist' exactly? How is being against the wholesale slaughter of civilians and the indiscriminate bombing of entire cities during Israel's explicitly illegal occupation of Palestine pro-Fascism?

    Fascism is the binding together of state and corporate powers to promote the interests of the mythical "deserving" people while expelling the "undeserving" underclass. I'm not sure you can coherently sympathize with the interests of an extremely wealthy ethnostate while they commit a genocide using the most advanced weapons systems the world has ever seen and talk about the evils of Fascism...

    I'm looking at the actions of the group, instead of all of the moralizing you do with each other. The use of intimidation and harassment campaigns are the tactics of a fascist movement.

    We're currently in a community that's supposed to be dedicated to Music. What does the music of Ed Sheeran have to do with the plight of Palestinians? If fewer people go to his concerts and buy his albums, how does that improve anything for Palestinians?

    The point of this movement is not about improving anything for Palestinians. The harassment and intimidation is the point. You just mindlessly rattle off some words about "capitalist ethnostate genocide" to make the harassment and intimidation sound vaguely moral, but none of that has anything to do with music or Ed Sheeran.

    You're obviously just roaming around the internet looking for people to intimidate to make yourselves feel strong. The goal is to make people afraid of your movement. That is the emotional core of all fascist movements.

    Do you think you're the only fascist movement that can spell the word "genocide"?

    Those aren't accurate when you're talking about people being oppressed and abused. It's not harassment it's standing up for.

    It's when a movement has no real ideology and is about gaining power through deception, manipulation, and intimidation. The emotional pressure points are usually about racism, paranoia, xenophobia, and nostalgia for past golden age (which likely never existed).

    You've gone for the classic paranoia over Jews thing, pretty on the nose if you ask me. You likely have some weird nostalgia over the Soviet Union, which likely never existed in your lifetime, and you've likely never even met anyone that lived in that country. But you likely have been made to believe it was a past golden age.

    You probably believe countries are somehow being manipulated by the Jews, that's the paranoia and xenophobia kicking in. You hate global order.

    You likely latch on to the words of demagogues like Hasan Piker.

    There's no real ideology in your movement. There's words about socialism spoken by millionaires that are promoted by billionaires. But deception and lies are a big part of fascism. You might support theocratic and fascist regimes elsewhere in the world, like Iran, or Hamas. You might even support Russia a fascist state.

    Even if you don't personally believe these things, a lot of people in your movement do. Your movement engages targeted harrassment and intimidation campaigns, so you know what will happen to you if you step out of line.

    Let me ask you this, if your movement tells you to vote Republican, would you do it? What if Tucker Carlson was running and promised to "stop the genocide"? Would you align with those people if the rest of your peer group went in that direction?

    Bud, not sure where you're getting that I'm talking about "The Jews" here. Unequivocally, I'm talking about the Country of Israel as a political apparatus, its ongoing genocide in Palestine, and the resultant response and political fallout for celebrities like Macklemore. Let's not forget his saying literally just 'the two forbidden words' got him immediately deplatformed.

    What mythic past exactly is Macklemore yearning for? A time before Israel damaged or destroyed almost every building in Gaza?

    Why are you bringing up the Jews, the Republicans, Iran, the Soviet Union, and Russia all of a sudden? No one has said a word about that here that I can see.

    In my experience though, these are exactly the ol' faithful defensive lines Zionists throw out when anyone gets too close to changing your mind... Maybe, just maybe, you can see that what Israel is doing in Gaza is truly and utterly inexcusable.

    I agree that focusing on the culture war stuff to the detriment of material support of Palestinians is not the best use of your time (like what we're doing here, so I'll try to keep this short), but we're talking about a multimillion dollar brand not an individual.

    The dude can believe whatever he wants, but when he starts enacting policy on employees, he's no longer just holding an opinion. He's enforcing a narrative in exchange for cash money.

    Also there's ur-fascism everywhere and we've for to keep our eyes peeled, but there's also an active genocide lead by a fascist colonial project of eradication going on right now, so maybe calling the people who get angry at celebrity brands online "fascist" is kind of small potatoes, wouldn't you agree?
