The F-104 had the best nicknames, all related to how it loved to kill it's pilots

    The Italians took possession of theirs in '62 and lost 147 of them in accidents over the next 42 years. They were crashing just over 3.25 of these a year for almost half a century. That's some dedication to killing pilots

    The Luftwaffe also called it Sargfighter, after the German word for coffin.
