I'm speaking broadly because I really don't want to start a fight here. It feels like many sides will never ever yield on anything and honestly, I've grown tired of the constant fighting

Right. Like medically assisted dying, the nuanced discussion goes out the window when the ruling class uses it to maximize harm to literally everybody else.
