If it's bad for the US, it's good for the rest of the world.

Of course. Of course. Once the current system destroys itself, your ideology will magically emerge victorious and everything will be wonderful.

I mean isn't that how progress has been made historically? What's the point you're making- don't try to change anything because it will never get better anyway?

Of course fight tyrannical empires. Fight them until we win. That's how we secured democracy, and we want to keep it. Therefore the enemy of my enemy is my friend.

If we all suffer, it's bad. Even if you want the US to suffer, which is understandable, it's still bad if the rest of the world suffers too.

Truly, but Trump is not going to stop. His regime has already identified their next targets: Cuba, Panama, Greenland, Canada... We are all going to suffer - but when and how much? Outside of MAGA and Israel, nobody wanted this shit but it still happened. If the closure of the straits leads to the end of Trump's plans, it's still 'good for the rest of the world' in that it is preferable to a Trump win.

    Edit: paragraph break.

Oh, absolutely, I'm just not sure it will. On one hand, his constituents could see him as ineffective and withdraw their support, but previous experience tells us this is unlikely. On the other hand, economical hardships historically tend to increase support for the far right. And while the military needs fuel, there is no realistic scenario in which the US cannot source enough to continue the war.

I am not so sure. He doesn't have the juice to do the rest of his nationalistic military bullshit because of this conflict, which won't end. This is forever war, hotter or colder, Israel won't let it die, they will keep it going for domestic political reasons. And they have video of our politicians and business leaders fucking children, so the US is their bitch.

They can sanction and such, I don't think they will have the support for much else.

I hope you're right. Plus Trump was no genius before dementia, let alone now. With Hegseth running the Pentagon show, Iran could very well end up conquering the US (joking, obviously. well, only a little).

Exactly, they are clowns, fox news anchors are running the US Military. They will continue to step on the military leaders trying to do it right. They already fired half of them.

Like Hitler micromanaging the russian campaign and dooming it changing objectives multiple times right before winter.

Yeah it's quite a shame that we all put our eggs in your evil basket. The sooner we get what we can out of it, the better. Obviously a few will be broken but it's better than you greedy fat fucks eating all our eggs.

Facts aren't edgy. America is literally trying to invade several countries at the moment, some of them it's longest allies.. Do you not watch the news?

The blowhard president talking shit does not equal the US trying to do something.

He talks shit for leverage because he thinks he's the best even though we all know he's a piece of fucking shit. He just said he wanted a united ireland, surely because he thinks that will force the UK to join the Iran war.

Same with Canada but for different reasons. Not that he wouldn't do these things if he could, but he can't. And he doesn't have the juice even if we could.

You're missing the point while you trip over yourself in your eagerness to be edgy

And I say this as someone who holds 'Murica beneath contempt

There is no doubt that it would be better for humanity if the USA were not fascist and were not trying to shake down the entire world. But they are, and they are. Our choices seem to be global economic devastation or literal WW3. The USA has to be stopped because Shitler ain't gonna stop himself. If Iran and the Houthis can undo Trump by squeezing the economy, i think it's better than global conflict. There will be terrible repercussions either way, but I still think WW3 would be worse. If this view seems 'edgy', it's because you are more optimistic about what is in store for the world were the USA to succeed in its current aggression against Iran.

That in your efforts to shit on the US, you ignore the fact that other, more vulnerable economies will be brutally battered, whether they support the US or not

Your childishness is ignorant to the ripples in the pond

I want to see the power and influence of the US weakened to the point where they are the same as everyone else, but I recognise that ripping the carpet out from under them would hurt many people, and unfortunately, most of them will be the already precarious and vulnerable

The brutal battering of vulnerable economies is Trump's exact intention. He started that process before he attacked Iran. You can't view this war in isolation: he is starving Cuba, robbing Venezuela, threatening the rest of NATO...

We can't avoid the bad outcomes of American aggression; they are upon us. Stopping Trump would be the only 'good' outcome at this point - I think that is what the previous poster meant by 'good for the rest of the world.'

It's like how amputation and chemotherapy is 'good' for a cancer patient if it saves their life.
