After 20 years in the Army, Master Sergeant Amiah Sale’s future hangs in the balance.

The Trump administration has made it a mission to purge all transgender service members from the military, but as the trans military ban makes its way through the courts, some service members, like Sale, are spending their days in limbo.

I've thought about this before, but don't see it as misogyny. After all, they don't see MTF as women. I think it has something in common with gay men receiving more hate and being bigger victims of violence than lesbian women. Maybe it does have something to do with rejecting traditional masculinity - which can be related to misogyny, but is a separate thing.

And yet she posted an upskirt of a trans woman to silence her. They say they don't see us as women, but aside from comfort using assault they tend to attack us in ways associated with misogyny. A special class of women, certainly, but ultimately there's a misogynistic character to it that I don't see in how gay men are mistreated.

Didn't know about that. That's... Certainly something. Like I knew about stuff she said and believed, but had no clue it ever got to that point.

Anyway, purely on the discussion of word choice and the psychology behind it, I'm still not sure sure if that would classify as misogyny. I assume she posted that picture because she saw it as "proof" (in her eyes) that that person was a man. So, from her point of view, the hate is being directed towards men and not women. Even if they are women from our POV, the hate is really coming from a place of hate towards men IMO, or at least what they see as unmanly men. If it was mainly stemming from a hate of women, I imagine a lot more of them would target trans men instead.
