Basically it’s not actually a thing, a meme account tweeted about it crashing Twitter that said the owner called it the gay Super Bowl, it really caught on.

The owners of Grindr basically agreed with that and then from there it has stayed in the public conscious.

It’s not entirely false either, as there is a correlation of increase with republican events. It’s difficult to discenrn and at the very least it’s never actually crashed the app.its also just funny to say because republicans are largely homophobic.
