    I wonder what growing the pumpkin in a space station would do, the fruit wouldn't have to be able to support its own weight at that point

    With these massive pumpkins (I live in farm country and we need hobbies too) the single plant takes up pretty much the whole field, and more problematically, drinks somewhere around 200 gallons of water a day once they get big. So it’s more a logistics problem really.

    If I could ever justify throwing a couple grand (I can’t and won’t) I’d love to try growing one hydroponically with a swimming pool as a reservoir.
