Just want to get some perspective on what people think of the American reaction. I'm NOT asking if it will happen. I'm asking what do you think Americans will do, if anything if this happens. Do you think people will just not care or protest on the streets?

The frog in the pot analogy comes to mind. Americans were sitting in the cold pot while trump stoked the fire under them. They've sat there largely content as the temp rises.
But if an attack was launched against the US it would be as if the frog was tossed into hot water. They would jump up and take action.
Now a nuke going off miles away might only raise a stir among the US population if the world sanctions the US.
The US dropping a nuke without consequences might encourage the UK to be bolder in its defence of the Falklands.
