Actually it's stage 3/4 of 5.

1. Fringe: just a couple people meeting in a bar
2. Normalization: go out and do protests, interviews, etc. People hate your ideas still, but you just keep saying them until they're normal.
3. Mainstream: established parties get scared, start talking the radical positions to get voters back, thereby proving that the positions are actually fine! So why vote for the cheap copy then, if you can have the original?
4. Power: win elections, start dismantling some Democratic institutions.
5. Gleichschaltung: take over total power via manufactured coup etc. Then dismantle anything that's left.
