The showrunner was Craig Mazin from the Chernobyl series. I think I remember reading this quote a while ago but he's a gamer so you'd think he'd know better

    God the more I learn about Chernobyl and the people and circumstances involved, the more I grow to despise that show. You think I would know better but the absolute indulgence of stereotype as fact done by that show and the ideological damage it caused in the queer community (specifically in the lead-up to the war in Ukraine) has been massive.
