Congress passed a symbolic resolution on Tuesday to condemn socialism — a move that saw eight Democrats cross the aisle to back the GOP on the measure.

The vote, which has no actual effect on public policy, was swiftly mocked by observers on social media.

"Voting to condemn an economic system that doesn’t exist in our country, to protect the one which we live under that exploits the working class to benefit the obscenely wealthy," wrote Melanie D'Arrigo, executive director of Campaign for New York Health. "This was Congress’ priority as 60% of Americans struggle to afford food, housing and healthcare. Embarrassing."

Partly because there have been 48 or less DNC senators for over 13 years, currently 45.

I agree we need to bury the GOP and that most if not all instances of crossing the aisle have been detrimental lately.
