Congress passed a symbolic resolution on Tuesday to condemn socialism — a move that saw eight Democrats cross the aisle to back the GOP on the measure.

The vote, which has no actual effect on public policy, was swiftly mocked by observers on social media.

"Voting to condemn an economic system that doesn’t exist in our country, to protect the one which we live under that exploits the working class to benefit the obscenely wealthy," wrote Melanie D'Arrigo, executive director of Campaign for New York Health. "This was Congress’ priority as 60% of Americans struggle to afford food, housing and healthcare. Embarrassing."

Unfortunately the primaries are over so we want those Dems to win in November.

Republicans are always worse, without exception.

This is all too true. Every damn time, the Republican candidate is worse. This is NOT the year to abstain from voting and it's NOT the year for protest voting against a Dem candidate. Get the GOP shit stains out of the carpet before we try to renovate the Democratic Party. There will be time for that once the country is restabilized.
