Congress passed a symbolic resolution on Tuesday to condemn socialism — a move that saw eight Democrats cross the aisle to back the GOP on the measure.
The vote, which has no actual effect on public policy, was swiftly mocked by observers on social media.
"Voting to condemn an economic system that doesn’t exist in our country, to protect the one which we live under that exploits the working class to benefit the obscenely wealthy," wrote Melanie D'Arrigo, executive director of Campaign for New York Health. "This was Congress’ priority as 60% of Americans struggle to afford food, housing and healthcare. Embarrassing."
They are threat to the democratic party? The party that lost to a reality show clown without the DSA?
They also lost that election without running an actual penguin for President. Doesn't mean they would have won if they did. Some would argue they would have performed even worse. Penguins have a pretty incoherent policy platform, after all.
The democratic party that’s sat idly by as that clown turns the US into a circus?
The Republicans have a majority and a packed Supreme Court.
