Same with a lot of other things. Take literature for example. Lots of works have been edited to hell and back, but looking at drafts manuscripts still enriches the perspective on the finished work.

Some artists never want their drafts or rough work to be seen, and that's OK, too. But idk if the dev who said that is coming at it from that perspective
