She is then pleased with her progress ("RIGHT THERE!", "THAT'S IT!"). permalink fedilink source parent hideshow 2 child comments replies: [β] raspberriesareyummy@lemmy.world 8 points 1 day ago (3 children) Ok, I should have phrased that differently. I did get that bit. I just found "ahhh" inappropriate to mimic a bat (a is a deep vowel, not a screech), and "right there" or "that's it" inappropriate for acknowledging that you got an echo. It feels really forced for the purpose of making a joke, and it didn't click with me at all. permalink fedilink source parent hideshow 6 child comments replies: [β] RBWells@lemmy.world 3 points 5 hours ago (1 child) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Human_echolocation I tend to agree. !!! But still found the comic funny. I can't hear bat noises but there are humans who can echolocate. permalink fedilink source parent hideshow 2 child comments replies: [β] raspberriesareyummy@lemmy.world 2 points 5 hours ago (1 child) I can't hear bat noises but there are humans who can echolocate I once got bored like 15 years ago and tried it for a few days after reading about a blind boy doing this to fi d the hoop in basketball. I couldn't dream of that kind of resolution, but I was able to detect a wall / doorframe and whether it was 1m away or 10cm. But I used clicking noises. permalink fedilink source parent hideshow 2 child comments replies: [β] k0e3@lemmy.ca 1 point 2 hours ago That's cool, I might try this for fun with my kids. permalink fedilink source parent [β] Zarobi@aussie.zone 14 points 1 day ago EEEE (clicking, chirping, and squeaking noises) EEEE Is this doing anything for you? permalink fedilink source parent [β] SalmiakDragon@feddit.nu 5 points 1 day ago (1 child) Yeah, as a joke it works best on paper. permalink fedilink source parent hideshow 2 child comments replies: [β] bryophile@lemmy.zip 7 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago) (1 child) I printed this out but it is still not funny on paper permalink fedilink source parent hideshow 2 child comments replies: [β] Zarobi@aussie.zone 2 points 1 day ago Rest In Peace your yellow and key black cartridges permalink fedilink source parent
