I have a few people on YouTube I follow who left America and it's like they realized that there is an entire world out there where you won't feel awful every day. People who move to Netherlands or Sweden, western and northern Europe. I think Americans assume everyone is as miserable as them or worse. Until they go to western Europe and talk to people there. Its a massive culture difference for one. People don't live to work in Europe. Its a job, not a life. permalink fedilink source parent hideshow 2 child comments replies: [–] RamRabbit@lemmy.world 1 point 4 hours ago* (1 child) there is an entire world out there where you won’t feel awful every day Americans assume everyone is as miserable as them or worse Americans are happier than half of Europeans, and vastly happier than most of the world. Why do you feel the need to make things up? It undermines any point you were making. https://worldpopulationreview.com/country-rankings/happiest-countries-in-the-world permalink fedilink source parent hideshow 2 child comments replies: [–] 1984@lemmy.today 0 points 2 hours ago* That's great that you are happier than Kuwait and Saudi Arabia but I was talking about a little more civilized countries. :) Happier than the worst part of the world is not the win you think it is... :) permalink fedilink source parent [–] IronBird@lemmy.world 8 points 23 hours ago (1 child) can't apreciate just how hot the fire is while your still in the pan permalink fedilink source parent hideshow 2 child comments replies: [–] hexagonwin@lemmy.today 1 point 23 hours ago (2 children) i mean i'm not in the US but still it seems like a decent place than many other places in the world. maybe i'm affected by propaganda lol permalink fedilink source parent hideshow 4 child comments replies: [–] RamRabbit@lemmy.world 3 points 4 hours ago* it seems like a decent place than many other places in the world It 100% is. Which is why the US constantly has problems with people immigrating illegally as even that idea is preferable to staying in the country they currently live. permalink fedilink source parent [–] IronBird@lemmy.world 5 points 22 hours ago* (last edited 12 hours ago) if your rich and able/willing to compartmentalize your conscience (and in good health, you have to be super-rich to afford getting sick in US) it's fine enough, but then being rich is fine everywhere permalink fedilink source parent
