I'm currently going through the junior year of my high school, that was 20 years ago exactly. It has been 22 years since my favorite baseball team, the Boston Red Sox, had finally broken their Curse of the Bambino in 2004. The Harry Potter main book series ended 19 years ago while the film series ended 15 years ago.

Tech. I hate new tech more and more every year. I used to love new tech it was awesome and exciting even enjoyably silly at times.

Now I hate it. Everything spies on you. Everything is used to persecute you. Being online used to be a refuge from the shit sandwich of life, now it's become the destroyer of worlds. While there is still some good tech news, it's too often just bullshit wrapped up in surveillance packages.

Want to just EMP the world now

    I feel this.

Remember when tech was weird, innovative, and wacky? Doing crazy things, and not always successfully. Especially around desktop computers.

and yeah, now its all plastic slop that listens to everything you do and reports back to some big database, that gets sold to and merged with other databases to build massive profiles about you. Oh watched video about drugs in 2023? No health insurance for you in 2045 because the profile has labeled you a drug user.

I genuinely think the last tech thing I had any excitement over was the initial Ryzen release, cause the chiplet design and unbelievable amount of cores you could have were just technically interesting at the time.. and yet, somehow, despite going from 4 threads to 12 threads, things are still slower and more clunky.. and thats because no one bothers to optimize anymore and just relies on brute force CPU/GPU horsepower to get through.

technology now is not just creepware feeding the profile, its also just boring and unimpressive and stupid (like toasters that require a live service that cant make toast anymore after the company shuts down)
