They've copyrighted "Buy Nothing" and issue takedowns to other Facebook community groups that use the phrase "Buy Nothing" in their name.

They have these stupid rigid nonsense rules that pointlessly atomize people. Like you can only be in one group and one group only, and the admins are such fucking dweebs about it, like they think they're working some kind of paid job; and each group's membership is based on a rigidly defined geographic area for each "neighborhood." If you live on the cusp of two groups they will seriously ask you which side of the street you live on to determine which group you're allowed to join.

I feel like, at least in my city, they've displaced a lot of the old groups that used to fill that niche here. Now instead of these vibrant groups where you could easily find all kinds of sick kickdowns, you're extremely atomized.
