I think it's like making a cake using box mix. Of course home made is infinitly better but at least you still have a cake at the end of it.

Maybe this soulless AI cat guy will have some human spirit put into them when the creator puts them into a really personal digital puppet show that allows them to express themselves through writing and storytelling as opposed to 3D modeling.

One disconnect here is some people just don't give a fuck about learning or improving in itself, only to achieve a goal. So like "I want to make XYZ" the outcome is what they value not the process of getting there. Now they've been handed a tool that can skip the learning part and go right to "produces something better than I can" which only works because the bar is so low when you are comparing it to completely unpracticed work

This is my argument against using AI in my life. I take pride in the craft, in my craft, in what I do. I'm a maker.
