Baseball actually is the ideal Sports-related hangout, in terms of actually going to a game, if you're a stupid American like myself; I haven't lived in a state/city that hasn't had some level of professional baseball within a 30-40 minute drive. Even the ~25 states that don't have any MLB/NBA/NHL/NFL teams will still, in my experience, at least have college ball or one/two teams that are part of one of the independent baseball leagues that feed into the MLB draft.

Benefit to baseball beyond the wide availability in the US is also the fact that even MLB games are never super expensive (unless its like the World Series), the games are always guaranteed to last a few hours, it's slow enough that you don't have to really pay attention unless you really care about the game, they're always outdoors, and most of the crowd is usually there to just chill out & drink. Soccer is good too, but I've never actually been to a MLS or USL game.

F1 is so niche in the US and I'll be damned if I pay $200 for a friend's single day Grand Prix ticket and then also have to convince them to spend the money on traveling to Austin or Miami or wherever it is LOL. Nascar is the proletariat's F1
