One issue is that it starts hot and very slowly loses heat.

A smart mug can be set to your desired temperature, get there immediately, and stay there.

That being said, as a former Ember mug user, there is no need for that thing to only be controllable through an app. A dial on the side would be fine.

    It’s actually pretty ridiculous because sometimes the coffee I made before 8 am is too hot to drink even by lunch.

    That's the exact problem a heated mug solves. It cools quickly then stays at your ideal temperature.

    That's the point I was trying to make.
