VLC started taking 33 seconds to open an MP3 and everyone blamed VLC. Turns out Windows Defender was quarantining its plugin cache, and the same update is breaking a lot more than one video player. Fix at the end.

Ah, I was wondering why vlc opens damn near instaneous on my Linux box compared to windows.

    I stopped using VLC because it’s performance so shit. Maybe this was the reason
