VLC started taking 33 seconds to open an MP3 and everyone blamed VLC. Turns out Windows Defender was quarantining its plugin cache, and the same update is breaking a lot more than one video player. Fix at the end.

I haven't checked recently, but VLC was stuck on an old version of ffmpeg for a long time.
