I feel like this is a key difference between the British and American upper class. This man was doing what most Americans do - fake it till you make it, get the bag, sigma grindset. But in Britain their upper class blue-bloods frown on that, the only way to be elite is to be born into it, and anyone who doesn't have a perfect pedigree is made into a pariah and thrown to the wolves of the tabloid media.
