That's EXACTLY what they do. permalink fedilink source parent hideshow 2 child comments replies: [–] Zaktor@sopuli.xyz 2 points 2 hours ago (1 child) Literally none of them do. You don't live in a representative utopia, you just don't want to have to do the things you tell other people to do. permalink fedilink source parent hideshow 2 child comments replies: [–] Buffalox@lemmy.world 0 points 2 hours ago* You are delusional if you think no democratic government is working for the people. You are also delusional if you think that in societies of millions of people, a government can make everybody happy. Then you may say we should make smaller societies. But even in families of 4, you can't always make everybody happy, because sometimes even a few people don't always agree. You may have some idea of some Utopia. But it's an illusion that can never happen. We constantly work to make things better, not to ruin everything, because some crazed guy has a deeply flawed clearly unproven idea. And yes I write that with a very high degree of certainty, because I've seen so many, and they always turn out to be nothing like what they claim, and clearly don't even work in theory, and the people claiming it in fact are extremely ignorant about reality of keeping a society of many people well functioning. permalink fedilink source parent
