Yep! I have the same thing happen all the time. I end up eventually figuring out a weird list of steps that work at least half the time, some of which are probably nothing but superstition and make no logical sense, but I do them every time because that specific list of steps is the only thing I know works and screwing one up can and has made it completely fail without feedback. And if it doesn't work, I'll try again, after a few repeats I'll reboot the whole system - because sometimes for Omnissiah knows why, that fixes it. That's a common Thing To Do on Windows, that isn't supposed to be necessary or even do any good on Linux, and yet.
