More like they are obsessed with pedophilia as a concept due to some underlying repressed pedophilia. It’s psycho-sexual and has nothing to do with the actual victims or wanting to reduce pedophilia. It’s more of a tantalizing obsession like true crime people’s obsession with serial killers. They will tell you it’s because they “want to protect themselves” by learning about serial killers, but that’s obvious bullshit because the best way to do that wouldn’t be through infotainment and spectacle.
