    Nobody's salary depends on randomly oppressing trans people, though, except to the extent that it's a distraction tactic from grift elsewhere.

    Their salary depends on oppressing people, but there's no particular reason it has to be trans people. The choice of victim is entirely arbitrary and therefore that choice can't be motivated by money.
