The term "breadcrumb-navigation" makes no sense. (feddit.org)

Okay so this kind of navigation:

Home > Sports > Football > BVB

Is called "breadcrumbs", because, like with Hänsel & Gretel in the old Grimms' Fairy Tales strewing breadcrumbs on their way into the forest, to be able to find the way back, it can help you navigate your way back home.

But Hänsel & Gretel only found their way back, when they used white pebbles... the day they used breadcrumbs, birds ate the crumbs and so the siblings get lost in the woods until they find the witches cottage.

Breadcrumbs is how you DON'T successfully navigate your way back. Breadcrumbs is how you fall into the hands of some grubby old cannibal lady.

If you can trust people for anything, you can trust them not to have actually read all of the source material and certainly for taking the wrong conclusion away from it.

Incidentally, it works the same way with the bible.

    No way! I totally would of noticed if the Bible had a freaky old cannibal lady who lived in the forest!

    Now I'm trying to remember if the Bible even has any forests...
