So I finally got into tiling window managers and tried out hyprland. I spent quite a good amount configuring everything and there is still a hell of a lot more to do, but I am already loving the matching colors and the general look and feel.

Xorg doesn't get actively developed anymore. I don't care about new features, but it's going to get issues with security, compatibility and probably stability at some point. TBF, "at some point" does a lot of work here - I don't believe that Wayland's tighter security makes a difference (at least not right now), and I'm still on oldstable, too. So, realistically, I can wait until it's actually an issue ...

Ah OK, didn't knew that I3 is for X11. Always thought it was for Wayland too.

Nah, i3 is pretty old and like most Xorg WMs, it has no plans for moving Wayland (AFAIK). But Sway is a drop-in replacement that works nearly the same and is even compatible with i3's config files. I could switch today if there wasn't all the other stuff that needs to be configured for Wayland (screenshots, clipboard, screenlocker etc.).
