When you say click the switch instead of flip the switch it makes me think you are using some kind of WiFi/ZigBee based light switch.
If that's the case then yes that's normal, and would make sense why it happened more recently and only in that one specific room. If you introduced new hardware that runs off WiFi it could be polluting that room and making it take longer to turn off the lights. I try not to let anything running off 2.4 exist in my house.
If its hardwired I don't think I am of any use.
I am using a white switch that came with the lamp that sits on the cord and goes click. I just said click instead of flip because my brain reaches for the wrong word.
