I really don't get that. What's exciting about working with LLMs? It's honestly one of the most boring things you can do on a computer once you are over the novelty of the computer doing stuff it's not explicitly programmed for.
Same mechanism as addiction: you get dopamine when you hit enter and wait to see if you have a winner. If you're not prone to gambling addiction it's easier to tire of the things.
For me it's like playing that Stanley Parable mini game where you have to press the button to keep the baby from crawling into the fire.
But the visuals are closer to the Severance MDR job than 3D graphics.
Productivity fetish maybe?
