Gluten is created from wheat. permalink fedilink source hideshow 4 child comments replies: [–] Katana314@lemmy.world 7 points 1 month ago (1 child) It’s a valid statement, stupidly enough. A family friend once had a gluten reaction from fruit. Turns out, the caterer presented it with a spray over them that makes them shinier - and that has gluten in it. permalink fedilink source parent hideshow 2 child comments replies: [–] Wxfisch@piefed.world 3 points 1 month ago The spray also helps to maintain freshness longer, so it’s not just a “pretty fruit sells better” tactic. Though it should be stickered if it’s coated and that coating is wheat derived (not all are). permalink fedilink source parent [–] farmgineer@nord.pub 4 points 1 month ago I have family with Coeliac and friends with other issues.
