I had to explain to my idiot brother that not only did the verse he loves quoting actually say "you shall not lie with young boys as with woman" but that it was actually a jab at.....ancient Greece.

He hasn't spoken to me in a year

No. Considering anyone who tries to use that verse to condemn gayness will then go and wear fabrics of different cloth, you don't need an excuse at all
