I actually like this exchange; you know how many people I know who think they've got a 160+ IQ because of an online test they took that then tried to sell them something?

At least a dozen, a few of which are even family members. Statistically impossible, but do they care? No, they're super geniuses. God what I'd pay to see what they respond to their real score, lol

And the test is like "Whats 5+789?"

Also IQ is just nonsense anyway. At the bare minimum intelligence isn't a high and low line, its one of those charts where you have scales in like 5 directions and it makes a colored blob except instead of 5 directions there are like, 100.

An online IQ test is probably just as meaningful as a sorting hat quiz, or whatever the 2020s equivalent is.

Which is to say, it’s useful as a bullshitting session conversation starter with friends so long as all are aware any results should be taken with a massive grain of salt.
