Actually, XP has open source security options and onecore API to run modern apps through a compatibility layer. It's the best time to be using XP and ditch modern systems.

Nah. All modern operating systems are flat and boring. Windows XP and MacOS snow leopard have style.

Most Linux desktop environments still follow the flat style that windows and Mac have adopted. I have browsed through icon packs and window decorations. It is hard to find good maximilast designs.

Believe me, I have tried. Everything falls just short of giving me the satisfaction of XP. The closest I have gotten is Trinity Desktop with an XP skin, but it's not the same. If you have gotten this far and care enough, I'll make sure to reply to this thread once I get the adapter to install XP and let you know how it goes. The only way forward now is back baby! We're riding into the modern era on the back of 2001 technology!
